Don’t Quit! Bring Passion Back Into Your Life

Have you recently been feeling burnt out on your daily job, career or life? I’ve seen it happen many times before and it’s not an incredibly uncommon thing. You get to a point where you stop seeing a positive impact, no matter how hard you work. You begin to see yourself as stuck, unable to move forward and unable to feel passionate or excited over what matters most in your life. At work or in your business, you need to feel as if you are doing something meaningful, with impact. Since 2001 the term work-life balance has been used by millions of workers around the world. The idea behind the term is that workers can enjoy a healthy, happy and successful life outside of their role as an employee, working towards their dreams and activities that aren’t related to their job or workplace. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the term referring to work-life balance started to change its meaning and nowadays we are beginning to discuss about work-life integration. It is not uncommon that after passing through such difficult crises and events, people fel exhausted physically and emotionally.

There’s a fire inside of you. A flame that refuses to fade. It should be motivating you to spend the day on your business or perhaps your next entrepreneurial initiative. But then there’s the other side of your brain telling you “no.” They are screaming at you that it’s time to take a break and recharge. The terrible thing is that they are right! You do need to take a break, but listen to me when I tell you that what you really need is some sort of balance between these two ideas — instead of finding yourself feeling burnt out for no apparent reason.

What should be the fisrt step that you should be doing? Maybe you’re in the wrong job, or even worse, have lost that passion and energy to achieve your full potential but really don’t know what to do about it. We’ve all been there or at some extent we are all there. When you feel unfulfilled with your role in life it may be a good idea to take a step back and take some time out. Burnout happens when you spend too much time on something that no longer reflects who you are or what you stand for. It can also happen when you are lacking a passion in your daily activities. Despite the money your job is bringing to you on a monthly basis, if you are not intrinsically motivated by your job, you will have a feeling of emptiness, ultimately.

Human beings are striving to find meaning and to create meaning throughout their life and when their daily work makes no sense for them, there is very few time until they give up or until they reach the burnout point. Everyone feels burntout at some point or another. It’s completely normal to experience the symptoms of burnout and it happens to everyone. It is important to be aware that you’re experiencing burnout so that you can take the appropriate action to ensure your wellbeing.

Maybe the solution in your case is to take a break, a short holiday and recharge your batteries, while for others it might be to drastically reset their personal and professional lives and to analyze their deepest feelings, values and beliefs. Burnout brings the opportunity for change in your life – either professional or personal. Somehow you are obliged to solve something that is bothering you, to reset your entire life. Even if it is not easy doing it, it could be worth it as it will provide you different coordinates that will allow creating a fulfilling existence and beyond everything will offer you the opportunity to reach your true potential.
